Notable for her versatility, guitarist Audrey Burke’s soulful playing transcends genres. Equally at home with lead and rhythm playing, she is able to adapt to and elevate any musical setting.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Audrey grew up immersed in the city’s rich culture and musical history. She always had a creative spirit - expressing herself through writing, painting, and drawing as a child. She picked up the violin when she was just seven, playing in a small elementary orchestra after school. It wasn’t until she was a teenager that she uncovered her deep passion for the guitar. Initially inspired by classic rock and blues gods like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jimmy Page, she bought her first guitar at fourteen and started working on her chops right away.
Audrey’s playing was built on the blues, however she eagerly branched out to other genres as her playing progressed. She has extensive experience studying and playing jazz, metal, rock, blues, folk, and R&B. Her ability to bring any artist’s musical visions to life makes her an important asset - whether it's in the studio, on stage, or in a writing session. Her goal with any project or performance is to blend an artist's vision with her own distinctive voice.
Audrey has spent many hours in the studio and played on several tracks for indie artists such as Dani Lopez and Izzy Potter. She has traveled to record in New York City, Atlanta, and of course, Nashville. She’s also been a part of numerous backing bands, playing in Nashville and Atlanta at venues such as The Masquerade, The End, The Bluebird Cafe, and The East Room. She is currently studying commercial guitar and music business at Belmont University, and has been a part of their commercial guitar ensemble for two years. Her time at Belmont has given her the space and tools to effectively play in any genre and maintain an authentic and professional musical presence. She’s knowledgeable in music theory, arranging, production, and business administration, and utilizes these skills in a practical way.
Audrey is currently furthering her musical education, writing guitar parts for future projects, and rehearsing for a band's debut show. You can find her on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
